Our Current “Loves”

February is the month of love, so what better time than now to share some of things we’ve been loving lately in our design projects.

Artistic wallpaper

Nothing makes our hearts flutter more than an abstract, painterly wallpaper! Wrapping a room with an incredibly unique creation makes for a tremendous impact. We also love that we’re often times dealing with smaller, independent creators. It’s nice when you can get to know the artist behind the paper first hand. One of our favorite vendors, who we’ve been dealing with for years is Lindsay Cowles. Here’s a screen shot of some of her amazing papers.

Another amazing vendor is and Porter Toleo. Seriously, check them out because what they make is so special. We recently used a paper from their collaboration with Schumacher. We kept the color soft for a soothing primary bedroom experience for our clients who wanted personality without lots of visual noise. Amazing, right?

jewelry for the home

Just like diamonds are a girl’s best friend, home jewelry is interior design’s best friend! We’re talking light fixtures (ceiling fixtures, sconces, lamps, etc.), cabinet hardware, interior door hardware and even plumbing fixtures. These can add a wow factor that takes design to that next level. Swoon! Here are some examples for you:

accent chairs

Comfy cozy really warms the heart and everyone needs those types of chairs, but if you want to add interest and depth to a room, choose a unique accent chair that makes a statement. Sculpture-like chairs really stand out and get noticed and are also an easy way to try out something new like a bold fabric, color, or pattern. There are no rules in the game of love – that goes for accent chairs as well!

cocktails

Not design-related, but we also love a good cocktail, shaken not stirred. And a light pick Cosmo is our jam, especially during this month of love. One of our favorite recipes is below. Cheers!
