Common Questions
A closer look at how we work, what we offer, and what to expect.
Who do you work with and what type of projects do you take on?
We work with busy professionals who value thoughtful design, clear guidance, and a well-managed process. Our clients often come to us with a general sense of how they want their home to feel, but they do not have the time or experience needed to manage the many decisions, details, and moving parts involved in a well-executed project.
Our work is best suited for full-service projects where we guide the process from concept through completion. This includes large-scale furnishing and decoration, renovations such as kitchens and bathrooms, and select custom builds where interiors are carried through to the final layer.
Because our process is comprehensive and detail-driven, we focus on projects where we can make a meaningful impact, typically a minimum of three rooms or more. We do not offer consulting-only services, as our work is rooted in fully developed, thoughtfully executed homes.
How are design fees determined?
We structure our design fees based on the scope, complexity, and overall scale of the project. Each project is different, so fees are developed once we have a clear understanding of the spaces involved and the level of detail required.
Following the Project Scope Assessment, we prepare a proposal outlining the recommended scope of design services and the associated design investment. This covers the work required to fully develop the design, including layouts, selections, and the overall direction for the home.
Because our design process is detailed and thoughtfully developed, our fees reflect the time and expertise required to create a cohesive, well-resolved plan before implementation begins.
How long does a project typically take from design through completion?
Timelines vary depending on the scope and complexity of the project, as well as the level of construction involved and the availability of materials and trades. Once a project is placed in our queue and begins, the design phase typically takes a minimum of three months and can extend further depending on the number of spaces and the level of detail required.
After the design is finalized, implementation timelines are influenced by construction schedules, product lead times, and installation coordination.
Because our projects are carried through to completion, we approach timelines thoughtfully and in sequence. This ensures decisions are made at the right time and that the final result feels cohesive and well executed.
How involved do I need to be throughout the process?
We guide our clients through the process in a structured and organized way, so your time is used thoughtfully and efficiently.
You will be involved at key moments, particularly during design presentations and major decisions, where your input helps shape the direction of the project. Outside of those moments, our team manages the day-to-day coordination, communication, and details required to keep everything moving forward.
Our goal is to create a process that feels clear and well-managed, allowing you to stay focused on your daily life while still feeling connected to the decisions that matter.
How is the project managed from construction through installation?
We work closely with contractors and trade partners throughout the project to ensure the design is carried through as intended. While the contractor manages the construction itself, we provide ongoing guidance, review key details, and help coordinate decisions as the project progresses.
Our team also manages the ordering, tracking, and delivery of furnishings and materials, along with installation coordination once everything is ready to come together.
By staying involved from design through installation, we help maintain consistency, reduce miscommunication, and ensure the finished home reflects the original design direction.
How do I get started?
The first step is to complete the inquiry form on our contact page and share a bit about your project.
From there, we schedule an introductory call to learn more about your home, discuss your goals, and determine whether our services are the right fit. If it feels aligned, we move forward with a Project Scope Assessment to better understand the space and prepare a proposal.
What is it like to work with your team?
Working with our team is a guided and collaborative experience, grounded in a clear process and thoughtful communication.
We lead each project with structure, helping clients navigate decisions in a way that feels organized and manageable. You will always understand where things stand, what decisions are needed, and what comes next.
At the same time, we create homes that feel personal and reflective of the people who live in them. Our role is to bring everything together while managing the details behind the scenes, so the process feels steady and the final result feels cohesive and complete.
