What types of clients do you work with, and what type of projects do you take?

We believe strongly that your living space should work with your lifestyle. Our clients are busy people, with lots on their plate. They may have a vision for their home, but they need a designer who gets them to bring that vision to life—or to help them realize the vision they didn’t even know they had!

Our clients know that we respect that they are busy professionals. That is why we offer an approach that manages all aspects of their interior design project. We listen to your needs, get to know your personality and style, and leave you with a room or home that is transformed to a personal haven.

Our sweet spot falls with larger scale furnishing + decoration projects, but we also handle many kitchen/bath renovations as well as guiding and designing every step of the way in the custom new build process. We like to make a big impact on your home and because of this require a minimum of three rooms for consideration. We don’t offer consulting-only services.

How do I get the process started?

The first step is to reach out through our contact form. After we gather some initial information, the next step is to schedule a 15 to 20 minute discovery call. This is a no-strings attached conversation where we learn more about your project, timeline, and budget. We’ll also tell you a bit about our process. If we agree we’re a good fit, the next step is a meet and greet ($500 fee) to gather the necessary information to create your scope of work and a design fee proposal.

How do you determine the fee for our project?

The purpose of our on-site consultation is to help us determine the scope of your project. During this conversation, we want to learn about what you want and need for the space, as well as any design preferences you may have. This process allows us to really get a feel for the project and your needs.

From there, we create a design fee proposal. Typically, our proposal is based on a flat fee per space, although the level of design and the number of selections for your project will influence that amount. For spec homes and new builds, we also offer a flat fee for build selections, generally based on square footage and without furniture selections.

How long can we expect the process to take, from design through to completion?

Supply and labor shortages continue to be a factor, so our process doesn’t move as swiftly as it used to. You can expect the overall process to take 6 to 12 months, depending on your project scope. We can assure you that it will be well worth the wait.

How do we find a contractor for the work we need done? And who manages them?

Working with GC’s and sub-contractors is something we do regularly in the project execution phase. We have amazing trade relationships but are also happy to work with your contacts. Having a strong team that is willing to communicate and collaborate is crucial to the success of your project.

We can help you acquire quotes, handle light scheduling, prepare work documents, detail drawings, and generally oversee the work of the trades for successful execution of the intended design. We call this Design Execution Management, and we charge by the hour for this service. We are your advocate throughout the process and especially on the project site. We work out all the details with the contractor directly, to ensure a great project outcome.

You can also manage the contractors if you have the time and bandwidth. It’s usually a much more involved process than one might think, but we will have your back if you need our help.

Who handles ordering of the products needed to execute the vision?

We manage fulfillment of most of the products needed for the scope of your project, including cabinetry, countertops, furniture, lighting, hardware, art, accessories, and anything else we may need. When working on a new build or remodel, the contractor or builder will handle the purchasing of build materials, plumbing, appliances, and any other build-related supplies.

All your products will be delivered to a receiving warehouse, inspected prior to delivery, and then delivered all at once (or at least the majority of your items, depending on supply) for an impactful delivery/installation experience. This white-glove delivery and installation service will eliminate you having to deal with any of the mess, waste disposal, or damages.

Who will we deal with throughout the project?

You will deal with us all at some point during the project. We choose to stay small so we can all be heavily involved and give your project the attention it deserves. We will stay on top of every detail and keep you informed every step of the way.

How does the billing process work?

We believe in simplified billing so we’re not asking you for money at every turn. We set up a payment schedule for both phases of your project — design and procurement/execution. You will pay 50% of the design fee when you sign your contract, and the balance is paid when we schedule your final design presentation. For procurement/execution, 75% of your total is paid prior to order placement with the balance due upon delivery scheduling. For Design Execution Management services, we bill hourly and those invoices are sent monthly.
