After several weeks being stuck at home, we’re all longing to get back into the office – especially Team EBI. Earlier this week, we announced some big news. We found our new home! After a few months of looking, negotiating, and renovating, we just couldn’t keep it a secret any longer. It’s been a challenge keeping it so hush-hush and moving amid the coronavirus outbreak. But we did it! We are beyond excited to share our behind-the-scenes and future plans for our new office space!

A look at our old office

Remember this beauty? It was a great office to go into and be inspired everyday. Sadly, we started to outgrow her and we needed a change. So we started looking and found some great spaces, but one in particular stood out.

It was chopped up into several small office spaces and needed a lot of work, but we saw the potential right away. We mean, who could pass up these windows?! Definitely not us – it has windows on 3 sides, and natural light in our industry is a MUST. We knew that removing some walls and changing flooring, paint, + fixtures could do wonders.

We took measurements and got to work on space planning. A few quick hand-drawn layouts, then importing our favorites into CAD became our jumping off point.

 

In the Works

This Before & After (construction) shot of our new desk area/presentation room is incredible – our space is so open + bright now.

Though our central area kept its layout, the office spaces on each side changed quite a bit. We removed the center wall dividing the two largest offices to make use of the incredible vaulted ceiling + windows. This is where we’ll work day-to-day, as well as host presentations. We wanted to make a huge impact there to both inspire us and our clients.

The other two offices needed a space adjustment – Interior Design comes with a lot of accessories! We needed to make a larger space for our Sample Room. So much happens there that we needed it to function for storage and inspire while we scheme away. We’ve got big plans for built-in storage. The smaller area we knew we needed for additional storage. So we moved the access point into the Sample Room.

We’ve glammed up the office bathroom, and have plans in the works for a pretty little wet bar, with tons of wow, and a sleek office kitchen. It’ll be the perfect place for a cocktail or two once the work is all done! Though these places are still in progress, we’ve included our own EBI Concept Board to give you a sneak peak of what we’re dreaming up. That pretty wallpaper from our old office will be making an appearance in our new digs too.

What’s Next?

The next big steps are getting our cabinetry and countertops installed, then maximizing on organization, and adding the finishing touches through free-standing furniture + styling. We want this space to function for work and entertaining our clients. Lots of collaboration, design work, and happy hours are bound to happen here.
