2025 came in piping hot and Q1 definitely brought its fair share of ups and downs. If it felt like a rollercoaster, trust me, you’re not alone. I recently took to my Instagram stories to check in with fellow designers and asked “What’s been your biggest challenge lately?”
One answer really stood out: Getting business. Things have slowed down significantly for the designers who answered.
When work is quiet, it’s easy to feel stressed. But if you’ve been through a downturn before, you know the drill. Keep showing up. Stay visible, keep marketing and trust that the momentum will build again. Ebbs and flows, my friends!
Now’s also a good time to be adaptable. Maybe that means adjusting your services and offering something a little outside your norm—something that still supports your ideal clients and keeps you moving forward. It doesn’t mean abandoning your long-term goals. It just means meeting people where they are right now.
