Practical Living with Style

We all know the challenges life can present when living a fast-paced lifestyle so the goal here was to create spaces that help the days go more smoothly for this dual-working couple with 4 very active kids.  In phase one of this design-over-time home, we opened up the kitchen by removing the wall between it and the breakfast room, creating a bright, connected hub for catching up on the day’s happenings, meal prepping and cooking. We also made better use of what was the sunroom by turning it into a casual dining area with motorized shades and then reimagined the underutilized formal dining room as a multifunctional wine room for evening happy hours, featuring a coffee and tea bar, a custom live-edge bar table and a built-in workspace to sit and organize household matters- perfect for everyday use.

In phase two, we turned our attention to the primary suite and bathroom. An unconventional new layout with two queen beds brought comfort, flexibility and hopefully some sound sleep! Let’s face it, light sleepers will do ANYTHING to get a good night’s sleep. Remember, there are no rules in design or lifestyle! The bathroom was transformed from a dated, chopped-up builder-grade space into a serene, spa-like retreat with heated floors and double shower heads. With all the craziness of work and family, having a space to disconnect from the noise is just what this couple needed to keep the battery charged.
